The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) faced off in the 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium on October 08, 2021.
RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a challenging total of 189/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli top-scored for RCB with an unbeaten 73 off 41 deliveries, while Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik made valuable contributions of 34 and 28 respectively.
In reply, DC fell short of the target by 21 runs, reaching 168/8 in their 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw was the highest run-getter for DC with 41 off 29, while Rishabh Pant scored 39 off 29. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, taking 3 wickets for 38 runs.
With this victory, RCB moved up to third place in the IPL 2022 points table, while DC remained in fifth place.
