Brownstone Shared Housing Reviews

Co-Living Startup Offers Compact Sleep Pods in Palo Alto Home

Subheading: Come for the Low Rent, Stay for the Community

A co-living startup is offering a new sleeping arrangement: compact sleep pods that allow 14 residents to share a single home in Palo Alto, California. The Brownstone Shared Housing home features tiny, individual pods that are stacked two-high and separated by curtains. Despite the close quarters, residents have access to shared common areas, including a kitchen, bathrooms, and a living room.

The startup, Y Combinator-backed PodShare, claims that the pods offer a low-cost housing option for people who are priced out of the expensive Silicon Valley housing market. PodShare rents out the pods for $1,200 per month, which is significantly cheaper than the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Palo Alto, which is around $3,000 per month.

While the pods may seem cramped, they are surprisingly comfortable. The pods are about the size of a twin bed and feature a mattress, a shelf, and a curtain for privacy. Residents also have access to a shared kitchen, bathrooms, and a living room.

PodShare is not the first company to offer co-living pods. Other companies, such as Ollie and Common, have also launched co-living spaces in major cities. However, PodShare is the first company to offer co-living pods in Palo Alto.

The company's Palo Alto home can accommodate up to 14 people. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood near Stanford University. Residents have access to a shared kitchen, bathrooms, and a living room.

PodShare is betting that there is a growing demand for affordable housing in Silicon Valley. The company's Palo Alto home is already fully booked, and PodShare is planning to open more co-living spaces in the area.

Whether or not co-living pods are the future of housing is still up for debate. However, PodShare's Palo Alto home is a clear indication that there is a growing demand for affordable housing in Silicon Valley.
