Hurley Leads Huskies to Championship Season
The University of Connecticut (UConn) on Thursday announced a six-year, $315 million contract extension for men's basketball coach Dan Hurley. The deal comes after Hurley led the Huskies to their first national championship in 24 years last season.
Substantial Salary Increase
Hurley, who previously earned $2.9 million annually, will now receive $5.35 million per year under the new contract. This makes him the highest-paid state employee in Connecticut.
The extension solidifies Hurley's commitment to the program and positions UConn as a contender for future championships. The Huskies are scheduled to open their 2024-25 season on November 7 against Stonehill.
