Early Life and Career
Boniek García, born 11 September 1984, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, is a retired professional footballer who played as a central midfielder. He began his career with Olimpia, one of Honduras's most successful clubs, in 2003.
García quickly established himself as a key player for Olimpia, helping the club win several national championships and the CONCACAF Champions League in 2006. His impressive performances caught the attention of international clubs, and in 2009, he moved to Marathón, another Honduran club.
International Career
García made his international debut for Honduras in 2005 and quickly became a regular member of the national team. He represented Honduras at three FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014, and 2018) and five CONCACAF Gold Cups, winning the latter in 2010.
Club Career in the United States
In 2012, García joined the Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer (MLS). He spent six seasons with the Dynamo, making over 150 appearances and helping the club win the US Open Cup in 2018.
After leaving the Dynamo, García had brief stints with Broncos and CD Olimpia before retiring from professional football in 2021.
